DESCRIPTION:Moriah brings her one-woman cabaret show from NYC to San Diego\, sharing stories and song about her adventures in living life and looking for love.\nJoined by fantastic San Diego musicians Justin Gray\, Martín Martiarena\, and her band Bad Rabbit: Ross Lee\, Brian O’Keefe\, & Paul Vouaux\nFeaturing songs by artists including Janis Joplin\, Heart\, P¡nk\, Jason Mraz\, and Aretha Franklin \nBio: Moriah is a San Diego native who has performed in theatres and venues across the country and in Japan. She started locally at the San Diego Rep\, Lamb’s Players\, the Welk Resort Theatre\, & Diversionary Theatre\, performing such diverse roles as Girl in Once\, Rizzo in Grease and Vi Petty in The Buddy Holly Story. She worked as a singer at a theme park in Japan\, had a fantastic year as Sophie in Mamma Mia in Las Vegas\, did a stint in New Mexico as Lucy in Jekyll & Hyde\, and enjoyed a summer in Portland playing her favorite rock icon\, Janis Joplin. In NYC she performed at Soul Night at Toshi’s Living Room and produced three shows at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre\, including two solo shows\, one of which was attended and lauded by Ed Asner.  She currently performs with local female trio Harmony Three\, which has 6 shows covering music genres from 40’s swing to sassy country\, sings with the Xceptional tribute to ABBA\, and fronts local cover band Bad Rabbit. Tempchin wrote “Slow Dancing”. The song was first recorded in 1976 by the short-lived group Funky Kings\, of which Tempchin and Jules Shear were members at the time. In 1977\, the song became a top-10 pop hit for Johnny Rivers titled as “Swayin’ to the Music (Slow Dancing)”\, and in 1979 it was a top-10 country hit for Johnny Duncan. \nTempchin has also toured extensively as a solo artist over the years\, opening for Ringo Starr\, Jackson Browne\, Dave Mason\, Poco\, Dolly Parton\, Karla Bonoff\, Chicago\, Christopher Cross\, Kenny Loggins\, Timothy B. Schmit\, Barry McGuire\, Tom Rush\, Al Kooper and Emmylou Harris. Tempchin was voted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2019.
